Kayla Dover

Associate Instructor/Student Outreach Coordinator

kdover@tweedrecording.com

Kayla Dover has been captivated by music since joining band in middle school. She performed in symphonic bands and percussion ensembles throughout her high school and college careers in Gainesville, Georgia. Soon after coming to terms with the fact that her college major was not her passion, Kayla began pondering other possibilities for her career. While walking along Clayton Street one day in the Summer of 2019, she noticed a building under construction with a sign reading “Tweed Recording.” After doing some research about what Tweed Recording was, Kayla immediately knew Audio Engineering and Production was the path she should follow. She attended Tweed’s workshops when they first opened in the fall of 2019, and was a part of the inaugural class for the Audio Production Certificate program in the spring of 2021.

Post graduation, Kayla has been given the opportunity to work alongside the other instructors as a Teacher’s Assistant and Assistant Engineer. She feels very fortunate that she gets to be surrounded with what she loves every day, while also sharing her knowledge with other students. As someone who went through the same program that she is now assisting teach, Kayla hopes to offer a comfortable and supportive environment for students and anyone passing through the studio, while upholding the values that the school strives to instill. Her dream is to have a home studio of her own; but, for now, she is focused on planting her roots in Athens. Kayla is incredibly honored and proud to have witnessed the growth Tweed Recording has made, and is elated to now be a part of the Tweed family.

What Our Students Are Saying

My instructor’s been pretty awesome, his name’s Nate. He taught me to use Ableton. He’s super knowledgeable and I’ve enjoyed the process of how we’ve been doing it so far.

– Sean

I had a wonderful experience with your staff and faculty, y’all truly care and seem to have a vested, true interest in our well being in and outside of the facility. In fact, I am quite stunned at the degree to which I was helped with my problems.
